Since stepping into my first Karate Dojo in 1982, I’ve dedicated my life to mastering and teaching the art of Karate. What began as a simple goal to get fit and learn self-defense has grown into a lifelong journey of learning and sharing the principles of traditional Karate. Over the years, I’ve earned my black belt, opened my own Dojo, and inspired countless students to push beyond their limits. In 2022, I was honoured with the title of Kyoshi by the Nippon Karate-Do Kai in Japan.

In 2003, I deepened my understanding of karate’s broader traditions and techniques in Japan, the birthplace of this martial art, including training at the original house of Mabuni Kenwa, the founder of Shito-Ryu. Today, I proudly represent Mabuni Kenzo Soke and continue to represent Mabuni Tsukasa Soke as the official Australian representative.

My experiences have taught me that the fundamental concepts of Karate transcend any single style. My mission is to pass on knowledge that benefits all traditional Karate practitioners, regardless of their specific background or training style.

From guiding students through Black Belt gradings in Osaka to teaching kata bunkai in unexpected places, I’ve learned that Karate knows no boundaries.
